Caring for community

Please help us support my local food pantry, in one of the most expensive areas to live in the country, by making a contribution to our Virtual Food Drive and sharing this page with your family and friends. Every dollar we raise will help to end hunger as SNAP benefits are not being fulfilled during the government shutdown.

Let’s rise to the occasion and help our community in need of food to get from day to day.

Click the "Shop" button to pitch in to this Drive. Help the Alameda County Food Bank buy the most needed items, including those we can't collect in barrels, such as milk, eggs, fruits, and vegetables.

✨✨WHAT IF✨✨
what if we kept the momentum going and resourced the food bank with $10,000 worth of purchasing power— that would equal 72 full family meals: whole chicken, potatoes, green beans. WHAT IF we did this by Thanksgiving?!?! Wouldn’t that be amazing?!?!

That’s the kind of world I believe in. We have the power to build a bold world where neighbors have each others backs during crisis and political meltdown. Each action we choose can build that courageous caring world we all want to be a part of. Let’s do this together. Let’s love loudly and dream big. Share this effort with everyone you know!!! ✨✨✨

Hi friends, family, neighbors and soon to be friends— I’m amazed at how everyone’s coming together to support our community with courage, care and solidarity. In five days we’ve raised the equivalent of over 600 full bags of groceries— far more than we could have done individually thanks to the purchasing power of the food bank’s partnership with food distributors. I’m not going to increase our goal because I believe in encouraging vast abundance and exceptional generosity and not to continually have us chasing a target. While I hastily put together this page while on the road for work, I am just so humbled by everyone’s response. Keep sharing, keep caring, and keep building the future we know is possible where all of us can thrive, be free and be well. Xo, Margaret

Hi friends, as I just finished my own dinner i learned that SNAP benefits will not be fulfilled in November, leaving so many people in a panic for how to feed themselves and maybe their families. what I love about the virtual drive is it helps to fill the gap by shopping for fresh produce and the perishable foods that are often in shortage at pantries and also-- are nice to eat! For the month of November I invite you to add some items to the virtual food drive weekly.
