We are Ayrah (11) and Simrah (7). During the month of Ramadan, we look forward to opening our fasts with a yummy spread of foods. Our mom always reminds us to be grateful and to remember that some people in our community may not have enough food—and for many families, hunger is not a choice.

This reminds us of one of our favorite sayings of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him): “He is not a believer whose stomach is filled while his neighbor goes hungry.”

When we learned more about the Alameda County Community Food Bank, where our mom works—which provides millions of pounds of food every year to people who are struggling to eat—we wanted to help too by raising funds!
This Ramadan, we want to help make sure our neighbors in our community don’t go hungry. Even a small donation can help provide meals for families in need. Every $1 helps provide 2 meals.

For every $100 donated, we will be donating some of our famous baked goods - Almond brownies, Choco chip cookies, and fudge brownies for a bake sale!
