Donate your birthday and turn this milestone into a gift for our community!

We make it simple for you to support the Food Bank. Whether you’re asking for donations instead of birthday gifts, fundraising with a 5K or bike race, or hosting another creative fundraiser, it’s super easy to get started and support our neighbors.

Unite and Act!

On January 20, inauguration day, over 150 people joined us for our Day of Unity and Action. In addition to jam-packed volunteer shifts, staff from elected officials’ offices joined us for an enlightening panel on how to speak up on policies that impact hunger and its root causes. (Spoiler alert: Call your elected officials!)

Thanks to everyone who came to show solidarity with our community, support our advocacy work, and affirm our belief that food is a basic human right.

Be our valentine?

Is your special someone sick of chocolate, hates the smell of roses, and never wants to see a stuffed bear ever again?

Give them the gift of supporting the Food Bank!

There’s nothing more heartwarming than knowing your loved one shares your belief in supporting families in our community. (Plus, you’ll receive an e-Valentine to send along to them!)

Record-Smashing Food Donations

Shout out to all our food donors and amazing staff!

In November and December, our staff picked up and distributed a total of 1.2 million pounds of donated food from local companies. We know we deal in big numbers over here – but that’s a record-breaking two months!

Congrats to our Food Resourcing team and thanks to our amazing, regular donors, who accounted for about 75 percent of that total! Your efforts ensure all this food makes its way onto tables and into cupboards across our county.

Thank you, and onwards to 2017!

We serve 1 in 5 Alameda County residents, including Ava and her mom.

Cesar Chavez Day

Join us for a special volunteer sort as we honor labor leader and civil rights activist Cesar Chávez.
